GWDC is thrilled to present work by four amazing Alberta-based artists in the first in-person edition of the Expanse Festival since 2020! Featuring new works by Deviani Andrea, Lebogang Disele and Kaili Che & Alyssa Maturino.

The Space Between

The Space Between is a solo performance that fuses movement and poetry to reflect on the performer’s experiences of being Black, African and a woman. It is a meditation on the loss of loved ones as a loss of personal history and culture, how to live up to our responsibilities ethically, and on self-acceptance in the face of perceived failure. The Space Between is a physical exploration of the limits and possibilities of growing up and living in between spaces.
