Expanse 2023

The Future is Ours…What Are We Going To Do With It?

Let’s Get Digital!

Expanse’s Digital Fest is back for its third year and will be running from April 3rd to April 30th, 2023.

This year’s festival offers a wide range of digital storytelling from recorded stage performances to short films, podcasts and cartoons, all made by local Alberta artists.

Digital Fest is a celebration of the creative potential of digital media and aims to bring together a diverse range of artists from all over the province.

The festival provides an opportunity for emerging talent to showcase their work and engage in meaningful conversations about digital storytelling.

All pieces are available online until April 30th, 2023!

This year, Expanse is asking questions around the theme:
The future is ours. What are we going to do with it?

What worries us? What excites us? What inspires us? How do we move forward together?

Expanse Festival is a movement arts festival that focuses on body-based work from a cross-section of artists. Expanse offers opportunity, inspiration, education, and community for artists and audiences who share a love and curiosity in physical performance.

We are welcoming folks from the community to join us on this journey!

The festival has two main streams: a Performance Series of performance works by local, regional, national and international artists and the Expanse Community Outreach Program which encompasses a number of activities through which the festival interacts with the Edmonton Community at large.

Expanse was one of the founding festivals of The Chinook Series, a festival of small festivals that runs for 10 days, but now are excited to present a full 10-day festival!
