Bruce Horak is a professional performer/creator with over 20 years of experience in Canada and abroad. He lost over 90% of his eyesight to a childhood Cancer and his unique vision is a conduit for his interpretations of the various forms he continues to explore, including theatrical performance, writing, music composition, and visual art.
His primary influences include: Keith Johnstone (“Impro” and
“Impro for Storytellers”), Mike Kennard and John Turner (Pochinco technique), James Gordaneer and Jeff Mellem (Visual art and gestural work, “Sketching People”).
You can expect:
– this is an accessible class and all exercises can/will be adapted for all participants.
– we will be working towards a heightened sensory awareness. We will deconstruct what it means to listen, what it means to see, and what it means to feel.
– there will be movement and vocalization throughout.
– there will be some drawing, so please bring a pencil and paper. No skill required.
