The Lab
This workshop will be an overview of theatrical lighting, sound, and projection design elements for the stage. We will learn about the equipment, software, and consoles used to create the technical aspects for a production. We will also touch on some terminology and stage management tips and tricks for working with venue technicians and how to communicate your artistic vision with producing teams. There will be a question and answer portion for participants as well.
*Folks under 18 need an adult to attend with you!

About your Lab Instructor
Jasper Poole (He/They)
Jasper Poole is an Edmonton-based designer, technician, and stage manager. Over the years he has worked on over 80 productions in numerous roles covering almost all aspects of producing a show. Notable works include co-author and Director of Almost Heroes at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival in 2017 and co-creator and Filmographer for Homegrown at NextFest in 2021. He is currently one of the Production Management team for Azimuth Theatre’s Expanse Festival.
Liv Bunge (She/They)
Liv Bunge (She/They) is an emerging Albertan Freelance Production Manager and Technical Director with a love for new works. They are passionate about creating anti-oppressive and accessible workspaces. The abundance of the amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton) Theatre community has allowed her to explore many of the local spaces and has kept them engaged all year long. She is looking forward to continuing to learn, work and grow in this industry.
