By Steve Pirot & Chris Craddock, 2005
Commissioned by The Canada Council, through One Yellow Rabbit to be premiered at the High Performance Rodeo 2005, and then at Catalyst Theatre.
The central character is a suicidal storyteller and the subplot involves two young boys who cannot sleep until their father comes up to their room to tell them a bedtime story. While the play is obsessed with death, the tone is lighthearted and digestible with its rapid transitions and minimal production elements.
Thirty characters and numerous situations were created by two actors wearing pyjamas, a blanket, two chairs, lights, sound, and the imagination of the audience.
