This dynamic duo premiered in Edmonton under Azimuth Theatre’s banner at The Living Room Playhouse, an example of work that premiered at our modest space that would be recognized by its subsequent production at other venues. We’re proud of that. It means we’re accomplishing our mission.
Job was a hip-hop musical, modernizing the bible story of Job, through an all rap experience. Almost like opera, this unique theatrical experience washed over the audience in a rush and tells the story of Job from the point of view of the original Hebrew text.
This show was unique and of a very high quality, the rap was articulate and intellectual and the performance energy was amazing. In our small space, with the first row on the floor a foot from the actors, this was an electric experience.
