About this event
Tools for Reading in 4 dimensions with Suzie Martin
This class will be an introduction to dramaturgy!
An imaginative archeological dig for theatre-makers and critics alike, this workshop will explore ways to uncover and discuss the meaning of a play on its own terms. We will ask questions about a play’s many component parts, look for clues in the text, and begin to identify patterns and structures that lead us to a deeper understanding of the unique world of the play. We will discuss how to use this work to springboard into a creative vision as a director/designer and how to use it to form coherent and constructive critical interpretations of productions we see.
ASL Interpretation and Auto-Generated Captions will be provided
