Lab 8 – 2021

The Art of Making a Life in the Arts

Kristi Hansen

This 90 minute session will delve into the process of navigating a life in the theatre industrial complex that aims to be balanced, ethical, and financially feasible for those who may not come from generational wealth. IT IS POSSIBLE! This particular Performance Lab will be structured as a lecture/Q&A session where we will cover grant writing for individuals, taxes for the artist, navigating casting and auditions as your authentic self, how to even BEGIN starting your own Independent Theatre company (and possibly moving towards not-for-profit—the pros and cons).
