Ashtanga yoga is one of the oldest forms of modern yoga that is still practiced today. It’s lineage (Krishnamacharya, Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois, Sharath Jois) has influenced many other styles of yoga and fitness in north America and around the world.
Join Linda Turnbull for an indepth workshop on Tristana; Breath, Bandha and Movement Synchronicity (vinyasa and asana) and how this can support a deeper connection to your Art. Finding stillness within chaos is not easy, but with practice, “all is coming” (K. Pattabhi Jois). The practice of Ashtanga yoga is not unlike many other forms of artistic disciplines. Get to the root, be clear with your intention. Look for the thread between body, breath and mind.

At SHALA Ashtanga Yoga Centre we honour the lineage of the late Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois and his grandson R. Sharath Jois as taught to us by our teachers Mark Darby, Shankara, Harmony Slater & David Robson. We are Edmonton’s only studio dedicated to the practice of the Ashtanga Yoga system.
