Sissy Fit: Battle Cry

Created by Brett Dahl
“Sissy Fit: Battle Cry’ is a drag spectacle of pure, cathartic release— for your heart, soul, and body. It revels in the joy of self-expression and the tension of navigating a world full of inequality, heteronormativity, and societal absurdity. Sissy invites the audience to channel rage, delight, and defiance into an empowering, communal experience. Part lip-sync, part protest, part cabaret spectacle, Battle Cry reaches out to anyone who’s ever felt too much or not enough to embrace their inner ‘Sissy’ and unleash an outrageous, radical transformation dripping with spectacle.
What Is the Inspiration For Your Piece? (The seed of inspiration)
This show reveals the challenges I have faced, struggling to understand how I identify and struggling to feel safe and seen as a queer person in this industry – especially in our current political climate. This show is a direct response to what is happening right now in our legislature – a queer battle cry. I want to actively contribute to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community by addressing important issues gender non-conforming people face. ‘Battle Cry’ creates opportunities for others affected by similar challenges to be seen and represented.
What Point In Process Is Your Piece At? (What stage of growth is your piece at, sapling, sprout, tree, shrub, whatever you feel)
