Expanse Festival is a movement arts festival that focuses on body-based work from a cross-section of artists. Expanse offers opportunity, inspiration, education, and community for artists and audiences who share a love and curiosity in physical performance.

    Expanse Festival

The festival has two main streams: a Performance Series of performance works by local, regional, national and international artists, and the Expanse Community Outreach Program which encompasses a number of activities through which the festival interacts with the Edmonton Community at large.

Expanse is one of the founding festivals of The Chinook Series, a festival of small festivals that runs for 10 days, usually in the dead of winter. Due to Covid-19 and our ever-changing global health situation, the festival has been pushed this year to begin on March 25, 2021! During Chinook, Expanse runs along side and interweaves with Fringe Theatre Adventures, and SOUND OFF: A Deaf Theatre Festival.

    This year’s festival dates are March 25 – April 4, 2021.
