Philip Hackborn (they/them) is a longtime friend of Azimuth Theatre and a creator who thrives on connection, transformation, and unexpected magic!

💫 Favourite Azimuth Memory?
“Running back and forth through backstage hallways between performances of Fragmented Journeys and The Lobbyists 2023! I’ve always adored The Lobbyists! Transforming interstitial spaces into places where anything can happen.”

🔥 What Excites You About the Arts?
“In my earlier years I was obsessed with making stories, making beauty, making meaning. Now, I focus more on making connection and community—which brings those other elements to life in new ways.”

🌙 What’s Next?
Philip recently finished performing in a run of FEED, the 3rd Zero Lab of 2025 at Mile Zero Dance, directed/choreographed by Tia Kushniruk and produced/dramaturged by Ainsley Hillyard. They also produced Madness and Other Ghost Stories at Found Festival 2024 with Common Ground Arts Society—a haunting and heartfelt storytelling showcase featuring expert storytellers around a campfire in Mill Creek Ravine.

The campfire was just the beginning for their new company, re:Create—a space for mad art, mad joy, and deep care. 🖤
